We’ve just held our first open event here at Beechley Drive – this afternoon, we were visited by the Year 5 pupils from Ysgol Coed y Gof,  and what a fantastic bunch they are!

The sun was shining, so the group could spend time outside on site having a look around and asking questions about what they could see happening. We were hoping to be able to give everyone a tour of the new Londis building, but the roofers are working putting up the trusses, so the building is filled with airbags in case of any falls, and there’s no room for one pair of feet on the floor, let alone 15!

But even though we could only look from outside the new building, there were lots of questions from the pupils about what was happening on site, and how long the project would take, and so on. From the very impressive questioning, it seems there are plenty of budding Brunels in Coed y Gof – and Gary and I really did enjoy chatting with them all. Some of the pupils are also keen to contribute to the blog, so look out for their posts soon!

I hope this will be the first of many events we do with local school children and residents – please get in touch with me on hello@beechleydrive.co.uk or @beechleydrive to find out more about site visits, we’d be happy to have you!
