How to chop down a tree – don’t try this at home!
June 3, 2014 No Comments on How to chop down a tree – don’t try this at home!Last week we had three trees taken down on the Beechley Drive site – I’ve never had the chance to watch tree surgeons close up before and it was fascinating! Here’s some pictures, and look out for a post on how you can become a tree surgeon coming soon!
These ‘stirrups’ have spikes on them so the tree surgeons can climb the lower trunk
If you look closely you can see the tree surgeon removing the lower branches
As the lower branches are removed, the surgeon climbs higher, chopping as he goes
The top of the tree comes off next
And then the trunk is removed from the top downwards
And finally…just one push and the tree is down!
